A Lecture on Media Strategies in Civil Society is organized
Thursday, December 8, 2011 The International Youth Exchange
Program (Zajel) of the Public Relations Department and the
Faculty of Media at An-Najah University organized a lecture
at the Faculty on the media strategies in the civil society.
The lecture was administered by Dr. Carmen Sammut, the
Visiting Professor from the University of Malta.
In her presentation, Dr. Sammut spoke about the mechanism of
using media means to achieve the basic goals. She also
explained the news management means, and concentrated on
quality in presenting news material. Moreover, she gave the
audience pieces of advice regarding media work, organizing
press conferences, the means to increase the chances to
provide media coverage for events and deliver it to the
different parts of the society.
The attendants also learned the mechanisms to acquire the
steps needed to build media policies and strategies in the
civil society so as to strengthen the different civil
society institutions. These instructions and guidance
regarding media work are very helpful as they enable media
men to easily reach the different media means and deliver
the message of their institution effectively.
