In the footsteps of the last
summer work camp, Zajel Youth
Exchange Program,
Public Relations Department at An-Najah
National University in Nablus cordially invites you to participate and
take part in our Annual International Work Camp 2009 "The Future is
in Our Hands" which will be held on the 2nd to the 18th
of Aug, 2009.
Since 2003, An-Najah
National University has organized this annual summer work camp which has
opened the space for International Volunteers and Students to work with
Palestinian students at our university, refugee camps, children and
civil society organizations where they can feel and experience the real
life style of the Palestinian community and the Palestinian tradition
and at the same time; encourage and support the local students and make
them feel that they are a part of the larger global youth.
Participants shall have the
chance to go around different areas and regions in
Palestine where they can have a close
overview on the so many villages and cities and their traditional,
historical and artistic heritage. Participants will also be given the
chance to participate in cultural and social events and activities as
well. They are going to meet with university students and academics, to
share information, experiences and cultures. Also, each one will offer
his/her own suggestions for future planning regarding the situation in
Palestine and the future projects regarding youth exchange and cultural
exchange. The events will be extremely diverse and rich; such activities
will cover workshops, lectures, visits to different villages and cities,
meeting different people and sharing ideas and points of view with them.
Such meetings between local
students and people and international students and visitors can play a
major role in educating those who come from other countries of the
various levels of development and progress that Palestine has reached both on academic
and social levels. Another advantage for this camp and the activities
that it employs is to produce individuals who have the potential to
spread culture and heritage of their country to other societies in the
world so that others there could understand and become aware of the
challenges that the Palestinian youth is facing nowadays. It is also
vital to introduce youth of our country to international youth and make
our students compete at a global level, thus, transferring the image of
Palestine to the cores of civilization and culture in the West.
This year camp is going
to have rich activities like:

Cultural Activities
such as Lectures, Global Village Exhibition, Workshops, etc.

Voluntary work in the
university and in refugee camps, Sports, Arts, Drama, Work with
Disabled, and Murals.

Social
Activities, Dabka, Music, Movies, Turkish bath, etc.
-
Visit
Palestinians in their villages, cities, old cities and refugee camps.
Those
