activities which enable the western point of view to be shown at
the university campus.

The Image
of the Palestinian Uprising in the Western Cartoons
In its efforts to exchange ideas
and thoughts with the west, Zajel Youth Exchange Program / Public
Relations Department organized gallery on the image of Al-Aqsa
Uprising in the American Cartoons, the mission of organizing this
gallery is to enable the university students and educators to get
an idea about the western media and its impact on public.
Cartoons have been selected from
variety of the most popular western cartoonists. Such cartoons
were able to distort the Palestinian struggle for freedom and
independence.
The Public Relations Department
issued a book titled: Al-Aqsa Uprising in Cartoons (Palestinian
Perspective) in order to show the other face of the situation.
This book contains more than 100 Palestinian cartoon which were
painted by local Palestinian artist, Baha Al-Bukhari who is living
in the heart of the conflict and not overseas.
Gallery on: The Image of Iraq
in the American Cartoons.
The Youth Exchange Program (ZAJEl)
/ Public Relations Department organized a gallery on the image of
Iraq in the American Cartoons, the gallery contained more than 120
cartoons of the most popular 27 American cartoonists, who are
publishing in the most important American newspapers and
magazines, The idea behind organizing this gallery was to show the
American misunderstanding and stereotypes about the Iraq Issue and
Iraqi People, which were misunderstood, this came as a result of
the Zajel`s mission to exchange the different perspectives between
east and west, this will also help our students to be more aware
of the western media and its involvement in telling the truth and
passing the message.
