Zajel organizes study visit for Belgian delegation

Zajel Youth Exchange Program organized a study tour for a Belgian delegation. The ten visitors are active in solidarity associations in Belgium and are visiting the Occupied Territories. Zajel’s local volunteers accompanied the delegation to the Old City of Nablus and explained the devastation and destruction that the Israeli invasions have caused in the Old City over the past years. They explained to their guests the social, economical and political situation in Palestine and the negative impact of the Israeli siege on the academic process.

Zajel also organized a tour around the Al-Ein Refugee camp of Nablus where the delegation met with eyewitnesses of the war of 1948, and listened to their testimonies. Another part of the program was a visit to the hospital where people who had been wounded in the past few days were visited. The project was organized by Zajel in cooperation with the Alternative Tourism Group, in order to encourage more people from all over the world to visit Palestine and its people.
