Zajel Organizes Study Visit of Birzeit University’s International Workcamp

Zajel organized study visit for the international volunteers who are participating in the international voluntary workcamp of Birzeit University, the visit that lasted for two days started by presentation on the activities and projects of Zajel Program and the Palestine Media Unit, Mr.Saed Abu Hejleh, Lecturer at An-Najah Geography Department made his presentation on the political and historical geography of Palestine, a slide show was presented on this purpose as well as a documentary film about the massacre of Jenin entitled; Jenin Jenin .

 

Zajel organized tour for the international volunteers of Birzeit workcamp who were around sixty member, volunteers could witness the devastation and the damages of the old city that happened after the invasion of 2002, they could enjoy visiting the Turkish Bath as well as the renovation projects that are functioning in the old city of Nablus, they also visited the renovation project of the Turkish Market, Khan, that is in cooperation between An-Najah University and UNESCO will be reconstructed soon.

 

The group of volunteers accompanied by the volunteers of Zajel and Askar Development Centre were hosted at the Center of Askar where they had presentation about the situation of the refugees and their right to return, some interviews were conducted with the eyewitnesses of the Palestinian deportation in 1948 were done in order to tell the stories and tales of the deportation of the Palestinian people of 1948.
